Accomplishments.
Ava started her racing career in the Kart Racers of America series at New Castle Motorsports Park. She raced the Yamaha Senior class for 15 and up. Prior to this, Ava didn't have any competitive driving or kart setup experience. It was a huge learning experience that she took on wholeheartedly. She started out around five seconds off the pace and getting lapped in the main event. Each week she managed to close the gap and finish a career best of 9th place. Ava also qualified 7th, her best qualifying position to date, in her first time running in the rain. In her last race of the season, she started 12th and worked her way up to sixth until the 5th place kart spun and collected her in his carnage. After the mishap, her season was over, her kart was badly damaged, and she was a little beaten up.
For 2018, we would like to upgrade from our current 2011 kart package to a more modern kart. We are also planning on switching to the LO206 class, the most competitive kart class ran in the KRA series. The LO206 class is becoming the nation’s most popular, most economical and most competitive classes. 2017 KRA LO206 events were getting 30 to 40 competitors each week. Ava's learning curve will continue in 2018, but with your support, we can enjoy the journey together. |
